That’s why we ensure annual flu vaccination with the 3Fluart vaccine for our plan holders free of charge. The most recent vaccination defends from the anticipated strains of the influenza virus; get a flu shot every year to protect yourself and people around you — if there are no contraindications to vaccination.

Our qualified nurse administers flu shots to patients above 16, but an adult must accompany the child between 16 and 18. Children between 6 months and 15 years should visit a pediatrician for vaccination, and can get the 3Fluart vaccine only from the age of 3 years.

Flu Vaccination for Children from 6 months to 15 years

Vaccination against flu is vital for babies and small children as they're at higher risk for severe complications. Children between the ages of 6 months and 15 years should see a pediatrician before getting the flu shot, which ensures that the vaccination is safe and effective.

We recommend renewing the flu shot annually because only the most recent vaccination protects from the anticipated strains of the influenza virus. The vaccination price includes the Vaxigrip Tetra vaccine, which protects from four different influenza A and B virus strains and is updated annually based on WHO’s recommendations.

Children under nine years old who haven't been vaccinated need two doses administered four weeks apart, and each visit should be paid separately.

Please note that the new flu vaccines, effective from the autumn 2024 season, are expected to arrive in our clinic in mid-to-late October. If you would like to get vaccinated as soon as possible, please register using the form on our website, and we will let you know when they become available.

SIDE EFFECTS OF THE FLU SHOT

  • Minor soreness, swelling or redness at the site of injection
  • Rare with our particular vaccine, which is an inactivated split virus and cannot cause the flu: fever, weakness, trembling, fatigue, headache, sweating, muscle aches
  • Very rare: pain along nerve, convulsions, thrombocytopenia, allergic reaction, vasculitis, neurological abnormalities
